River's Story

This is Harley. He was rescued as a puppy off the street by a person who did not have the time or resources to care for him. He spent most of the first year of his life in a kennel until he was abandoned to The Mylo Foundation.

When we got him he was severely shy and afraid of humans. He spent the next six months in a foster home where he was allowed to develop relationships with other dogs who gave him confidence. He slowly started coming out of his shell.

About three months ago a foster home opened up for Harley where he gets more one on one attention with people but also still has his dog friends. Now here he is running on the beach, happy.

Harley's journey with us has taken a year and half but that's what he needed. We are so thankful for the support we get which allows us to help dogs like Harley. Thank you!

Harley's Journey

We can't do what we do without our fosters and volunteers who are dedicated to saving lives every day.

Rescue • Foster • Adopt • Repeat

This is Hope... now known as Gurtie. When Mylo rescued Gurtie she was beaten down, tired and sad not to mention... heavy heart-worm positive. We believe she was used for breeding and possibly dog fighting. When she came to us she had so much hope in her eyes but was still so sad. We did a visit today and she is nothing but happy and a whopping 80 pounds!!! Can you believe that??

We are so happy to see Gurtie in her forever home being loved by such amazing people! Also very happy to say she is “light” HW positive.

The Mylo Foundation

Fostering saves lives!

When River came to us he was very sick. He also had very little social skills. He could not connect with you nor make eye contact. Because of this, he could not focus long enough to make a connection.

Training has helped River make that connection. He understands he can communicate with people now. When I look at him, he sits and makes eye contact. And he is so much happier.

The best news is, he can also connect with other people and find his home.
River has been with us for almost 2 years. Most of our dogs are not with us that long. But some need the commitment and The Mylo Foundation makes it their goal to give every dog we rescue the time they need. Thank you to EVERYONE who supports what we do so dogs like River can have their chance.

💚💚HANK UPDATE💚💚

We received this amazing update from Hank and his family!! You will need a tissue 💜💜

We have had him for over 6 months and he is nothing short of perfect. We fell in love when we got him, but he has grown so much and is now a part of the family. I want to make it official to adopt him. So I just wanted to reach out and see what the next steps are and say that we'd love
to say he is "officially" ours for Christmas. He weighs 52 pounds now! When we got him he was around 34. He is completely house and crate trained, knows, sit and lie down and stay. Is best friends with our little Chiweenie and the funniest, most happy boy ever, My husband said it's like Christmas morning every day for him. He's so excited to wake up and start the day. He's excited to run around outside and then run inside for his breakfast and then can't wait to go on his walk- he's jumping all around and then soon as we start our walk-- he will bark to let all the other dogs know he is coming. haha. We love him and am so grateful you guys found him and allowed us to bring him into our home. Thank
You! I just wanted to share a little of his life now. It’s amazing to see how much he’s changed and he’s learning to relax and realize this is home and how to be a part of the family. How to be loved
Every day we see changes in things he allows or ways he comes to us. Allowing affection has been the one that he has finally started to desire from us and give back.

I’d be happy to share with others too- especially when it comes to old hunting dogs who are discarded when they are no longer able to hunt. They make amazing pets and companions❤️
